Dan Brown holds a Masters in Musicology from Cornell University, and has taught music theory, appreciation, and history at Cornell and Dartmouth College. His criticism has appeared in The Harvard Book Review and The New Criterion. Brown's poetry collection Taking the Occasion (Ivan R. Dee, Chicago) received the 2008 New Criterion Poetry Prize.
